The ruin of a weekend

I had a 3 day weekend, leftover vacation from 2006. I had big plans for working on Chez Packratty. But that beastly cold intervened and Ms. Packratty spent most of the weekend wheezing, weeping and honking.

However, by Monday, Ms. Packratty was able to essay a trip to get her eyes examined - and of course, new lenses are needed at a budgetbusting total.

However, that accomplished and weeping behind the geekly temporary sunglasses, Ms. Packratty went over to admire the now 8-day-old puppies and give Charlie a bath. He is now a handsome, sweet-smelling pup again.

Here are the puppies and Charlie.

On the knitting front, another 3 inches has been added to the brioche afghan and half of another dishcloth completed. The hat kit arrived, with the wrong color yarn - now being shipped - and Ms. Packratty needs to find someone to teach her the cast-on prescribed in the pattern, as the diagrams in her knitting books make her head hurt.
