The Stair Project has hit some complications. First, the staples that had secured the temporary tread covers were coming out in pieces, leaving other sharp little pieces sticking up. Wrestling with them cost me several hours of sweating, a blister on my right index finger and about $22 in new pliers, to little avail.
I also managed to slice my left index finger in the same spot as the blister on my right - right on the pad of the middle section of the finger. Right where almost everything you do hurts. Thank you, Mr. Murphy.
So back to Home Depot on the advice of a friend to get a countersink. So I will shortly go back to the house and simply countersink the sharp little buggers and wood putty the holes. But not until after I get Norman washed. It is not easy looking after a herd of terriers and those puppies poop like geese.
And, of course, the people who swore to Joe that they were starting work on the driveway this morning? So not here.
